Questions about Ghost Frame, costs and crews
What does Ghost Frame do, and do I need it?
Ghost Frame shows a different image to each camera on the same LED wall, at the same moment. Several cameras each see their own background. Or the crew sees a clean plate while the camera sees the set. You need it if you shoot with several cameras, or want several branded versions from one take.
Is the wall cheaper than a green screen?
Per day, green screen is usually cheaper. Per finished show the wall can be, because there's no green-screen clean-up and the client approves on set. If your set is one real room a short drive away, shoot there.
What does an election night studio cost?
It depends on the hours on air, whether the set is new or reused, and how many graphics are linked to your live results. TVP's 2023 night was ten hours with live results. Send your results data details and the running time, and you get a price range after a 30-minute call.
Do you use Unreal Engine or Vizrt?
Both, for different jobs. Unreal Engine draws the background; Vizrt VizArc runs the data graphics and the AR on top. If your graphics team already works in Vizrt, your templates carry over.
Can we bring our own crew?
Yes. Bring your director of photography, camera operator and cameras, and we run the wall. Or hire our Unreal operator and tracking engineer too.
Can the studio come to our broadcaster instead?
Yes. We can run green screen with several live cameras at your studio. The LED wall can come to you as Nomad Stage. For a bigger space, we work with Studio ZPR.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Put your dates in the first line of the brief. Availability is the first thing Marta answers. If you use live data, send the details early. We test every data graphic against the real source before you go on air.
