Synapse Stage ยท the system behind Studio rental

How one wall gives three cameras three backgrounds.

Synapse Stage is the system behind our LED stage in Warsaw. It's for producers and broadcasters deciding where to shoot. Scroll from the Unreal Engine screen to what the camera sees.

S01 ยท The monitor

It starts in Unreal.

S02 ยท Inside the virtual set

The set is rendered live.

S03 ยท Looking out

Now see the cameras.

S04 ยท Through the wall

S05 ยท Behind the wall

144 panels.

7.5 metres wide.

S06 ยท Follow the fibre

Nine Unreal machines render it live.

S07 ยท The studio lights

The lights follow the virtual sun.

S08 ยท The LED ceiling

The sky lights the actors too.

S09 ยท The camera's eye

The wall redraws for the lens.

Depth shifts as the camera moves.

S10 ยท Ghost Frame

Three cameras.

Three worlds.

One wall.

S11 ยท The whole network

Synapse Stage.

AI-generatedAn AI-generated fly-through made from storyboard frames. It shows how the signal travels, not the real equipment.

An agent asks. The lights answer.

The studio lights take their cues from Unreal Engine, and from an AI agent, so the light on the actors matches the set on the wall.

What it means for your shoot

What you get on the day.

  1. One take, several versions

With Ghost Frame, three cameras see three different backgrounds on the same wall at once. The same presenter, three sponsors' versions.

  2. Light that matches the set

When the virtual sun sets, the studio lights set with it. Faces and props carry the colour of the set.

  3. The background moves with the camera

The tracked camera moves, and the set on the wall moves with it, in correct perspective.

What's on the stage
